Arizona recently enforced a texting while driving law that prohibits drivers from using a mobile device while driving without the use of a hands-free device. In other words, drivers must use a Bluetooth device when utilizing their mobile device in the car.
A ticket for this violation will not be warranted until the law goes into effect in 2021, but officers are still required to issue warning citations. It has been reported that officers in the Mesa area have already issued over 1100 warnings to individuals who continue to use their phone while driving.
